Adamu Hashimu Ranga a PDP lawmaker representing Ningi/Warji federal constituency of Bauchi state was attacked by a group of angry youths at the burial of the Emir of Ningi in Bauchi state, Yunusa Danyaya
Ranga, who was elected in 2023 under the Peoples Democratic Party, had attended the burial of the late Emir of Ningi, Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya, on Sunday along with other important dignitaries from the Ningi Emirate Council when this attack happened
The youths were upset at the lawmaker because of their poor representation and abandonment after the elections with him relocating to Abuja afterwards.
Adamu Hashimu Ranga was attacked when he was leaving the palace. Stones and sand was hurled at him and his vehicle by the youths while they chanted “Ba mu yi, ba mu yi” which translates to ‘We don’t want you’, as he tried to run for safety.
This actions resulted in significant damage to the vehicle he came in as the car’s screen and windows, as well as the rear mirrors being shattered.
Attempts at calming the youths down proved unfruitful and unsuccessful as the attack became even worse.
It took the intervention of security officers for the lawmaker to be driven away from the scene unharmed.
